I have a daughter that is developmentally delayed and I am making a bed similar to the one in the pic. What I dont know is what kind of hinges to use to attach it to the posts and to each other. Anyone have any ideas or know what kind of hinges this bed uses to attach the panels. The bed is made by a company in the UK, Savi Beds if you want to look at more examples. I have never seen anything like it and I have searched google till my eyes melted. Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance

From what I can see in the picture, it appears that the hinges showing on the fold-outs are what are called SOSS hinges (SOSS website). If they are used at the fold-out hinge point, they are probably also used for the hinges that connect the fold-outs to the base unit. Another possibility is that they might be barrel hinges examples of which are also shown on the SOSS website. Either would work for this application.

Hope that this helps.

1. Try correcting the link address to

It seems that an “l” is missing in one side, and duplicated in other.

2. The bed image shows barrel hinges for the folding doors. However I cannot see the hinges attaching the door to the post. I believe any hinge will do here. I even wonder if barrel hinges are a better choice than a standard book type.

Thanks everybody!!
I thought I posted a thx from my phone the other day but evidently I did not.
Here is the update. I have ended up with bi-fold door hinges or non mortise. They are a known quantity and I can buy 15 sets as a opposed to one set of barrels. ; ) I felt like the aesthetics would not be compromised unduly, and they would be very robust. Good idea?

As Fernando says, I think the SOSS hinges are for looks, and you can use the bi-fold just as well.
