Topic tags/keywords: delta 34-444 opinion

Not going to buy or look for this model saw, I just want to know what it is in the minds of LJ’s
The make and model I’m curious about is the Delta 10 inch 34-444. Hope I can learn something so let loose, good/bad or both. Say as compared to the Grizzly 10 inch 1022. larry

AFAIK, the G1022 is a Taiwanese copy of the Delta design, made by Mao Shan along with several other brands….surprisingly similar from a glance underneath. The things that get bolted onto the basic saw are what really makes one nicer to use than the other. Overall quality should be a little better on the Delta, but either saw can be setup to work well. The basic stock fence on the G1022 was kinda lame IMO, but the later versions of the G1022Z offered solid cast wings and either the Shop Fox Classic or Shop Fox Original fence, which were pretty nice. Both have similar design drawbacks and duty ratings….outboard motor, dust collection, connecting rods as an arbor carriage, etc.

Thanks guys, I meant to say the G1022Z so I’m glad it was covered. The G1022Z I am comparing has a 62 inch Delta Unifence with it. The Delta 34-444 has a T2 fence. I certainly will go through the topic suggested as I know very little about the saws I own and really would like to know more of what it is that I own. I know guys here can help. larry
