My apologies if this has been covered in another thread, but the last topic I found on this is a few years old.

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a table saw. Woodworking is basically a hobby, but leaning more towards a serious hobby than just something I do here and there.

Something around the $1200 range is my price point, but i’m willing to spend a bit more is necessary. I’m really trying to avoid buying a saw now and not regretting spending a bit more in a few years and replacing it again. I’d prefer a ‘one and done’ approach this go round.

I’m just not sure if that price point can afford me that luxury. I’ve read so much about different brands and models, I though the huge knowledge base here for any thoughts.

Any input is appreciated.

When I was at the stage you are my budget for a table saw was about half of yours, so I got the Delta 36-725 at Lowe’s for around $600. I’ve since added an Irwin Marples multipurpose blade and the Incra LS-TS fence system and their miter gage and cross-cut sled system. I’m probably at $1,000 into the saw and upgrades at this point and I’m very happy with the results I get from it.

If I ever upgrade from here it will be to a SawStop or Powermatic saw in the $2,200 – $2,500 range. Those are my “one and done” saws but it wasn’t practical from a marital harmony standpoint at the time. In the range you are looking you are probably limited to Jet and Grizzly for new saws or a good used Powermatic.

Don’t apologize, just go read one of the half dozen other threads from the last two days asking the same question.
