I’m a big fan of If you’ve never heard of it, its a site devoted to tutorials and slideshows for all kinds of crafts and DIY work. There are some very crafty people on that site with amazing ideas for everything from homemade recipes, to DIY solar power, sewing projects, gardening/crafts, pet stuff/etc, changing oil on your car, rebuilding an engine, homemade CNC machines etc. Its a very good site.

I won second place for a halloween costume contest slideshow 2 years ago (i’ve gotten 45,500 views so far of it) and thought I’d share a new contest….FOR WOODWORKING :) It is sponsored by Popular Mechanics. The prizes are decent, the grand prize is a Craftsman 15 amp 10’’ MiterMate Miter Saw and a Craftsman Vibrafree 5’’ Random Orbit Sander, the first and second prizes consists of some clamps and circular saw blades, etc. They may not be the most amazing prizes but I’m sure some here will still be interested. So check it out:

It’s basically what a lot of people already do with their blog posts going over their build process. HEre is the basic Contest Info: “We love any sort of project that involves wood, so any type of woodworking is eligible. Tools can be classic hand tools or power tools, and the projects can be tiny or the size of a house. It’s up to you! What truly matters is that you share your woodworking project with great photos and descriptions so others can learn from your experience” entries need to be submitted by Oct. 3rd to be considered.

So, enjoy :) Good luck.

Thanks Cozmo. Neither do I. I won first place at an in-person costume contest for this one and my older one of Bender from futurama. I could actually hold beer in the chest compartment like bender could. Halloween is a big deal for my wife and I. I dont’ know why, but the costumes are fun to make and wear from ordinary items. Only problem is most of September and October is devoted to making them and my wife and I dont know what to do this year.

Anyways, this site is awesome for ideas on anything creative.
