I don’t know what is different for you from before. I always edit my images down to a maximum width of 1200 pixels before I upload them, and I never have a problem.

Charlie Where do you edit them, in Photobucket or somewhere else? I tried photo bucket but no results.

I edit with Adobe Photoshop Elements, but there are plenty of free/cheap photo editing programs out there if you do not already have one on your computer.

I downloaded Photoscape and resized below 1200 and still the pics are large. Check out “Jealous of all these Gloats”

Hi Guys:

Well this is my Third Post on the same thing. ...LOL….. Another Guy was having problems just getting pictures Posted. My Post to him is here http://lumberjocks.com/topics/19869

The first guy was having the same problems as you Clay my Post to him is here. http://lumberjocks.com/topics/19822

I just checked the size of your Photos and they are 1024×768. Same as the other guys. That size is big enough to FILL the Entire Screen of a 17” Computer. Too Big for here.

PhotoBucket allows you to choose a size when Uploading to their Site. Also if the Photo is Too Big you can always “Edit” them down in PhotoBucket. I don’t think you can Upsize however.

95% of what I Upload to The Bucket is “Large” (640×480). That’s one of the 7 Sizes you can choose on PhotoBucket BEFORE Uploading your Photos. That’s a Perfect size for here.

The are other answers in both other posts.

Basically when you reach the “Upload Images and Videos” you’ll see at the bottom right corner of that in small letters. “other options”. Click on that, it opens another window with the 7 seven sizes on there. Choose the one you want (again mine is “Large” (640×480).) click “save”, it takes you back to the Upload Page. Then it Uploads at that size.

I assume your using a Digital Camera. That downloads a MASSIVE size Picture onto your Computer when you take them off the Camera somewhere around 2400×1200 Apprx.. I edit mine at that point, Crop, Clean Up, Color, Sharpen etc. then I resize it down to about 750×750 if Square.

TIP: I ALWAYS MAKE AN EXTRA COPY of ALL of my Pictures at full size and put them in a Seperate Folder, Named “Originals” in case something goes wrong later.

Hope it helps.

Thanks guys for the info. Rick I did resize them but I guess not to a small enough size, I’ll remember the 640×480 next time .

Microsoft Office Picture Manager does it too. With the picture open go to Pictures-Compress Pictures and choose Web Pages for the size.
