Topic tags/keywords: wood duck boat

So I’m new to the site. I know that this has been a topic of discussion before but I would like to get some info from some people that have built a Kara Hummer layout boat. The plans call for both ends to be pointed. I want to square off one end and build to pod sections within the boat so I can add a motor on the back and carry my dog with me as well without the back of the boat sinking. With have never built one of these I’m not sure if doing this is needed or not. Is the boat stable enough without doing this?

I did a quick Google image search for Kara Hummer layout boat. There’s photos that show that what you’re asking can be done. I also noticed in some of the pictures that there’s links to sites where folks have built them.
Truth is, I did this because I had NO IDEA what a “Kara Hummer” was.

Yeah the bottom pic is what they call a “hybrid” boat. The other is a “Kara Hummer” but it looks like it has been shortened up some. I have the original plans for the boat but I plan on changing the plans up a bit. Thanks for the info and research.
