Does the soundboard on a tongue drum have to be one piece or can you glue boards together to get the correct width you want? I’m having trouble getting 8 – 10 inch width walnut and wondered if you can glue 4 or 5 inch boards together.

I’m thinking that as long as you dont try to incorpirate two pieces into the same tongue, you should be ok as far as tone goes.

It doesn’t really matter where the glue joint is. You can tune them if necessary or you so desire.
