I have quite a few photos that I would like to link to on LJ. I’ve done some in the past using Photobucket. But, I use an iPhone and was figuring there should be a way to link to photos in iCloud. However, I just cannot figure out how to do this.

I’ve tried creating a shared album, but cannot find some way to get a URL for a given photo (something simple to do with Photobucket). And it seems nothing is synced so I have different albums on different devices and it’s different in the actual online iCloud.

Anyone know how to do this?

My goal would be to have albums specific to LJ so that as long as I don’t mess with them, the links will be good indefinitely.

As I recall, LJ project photos are actually uploaded to LJ, but I believe photos for threads and blog posts have to exist on the web and all we do is link to those. So those need to stay good for the LJ threads and blog posts to link to those. Do I have that right? Or is there some way that copies can be uploaded to LJ for blogs and threads in general?

You can insert an image. The img button and upload an image from your device.

So perhaps I have understood this wrong. I saw all these LJ images, referencing amazon, and assumed that this was just where the individual poster had stored their image. Other forums I’m on work this way. They do not archive images.

But doing a test, as below, uploading straight from my PC, it appears it is LJ that saves the actual images to amazon. If so that’s great, no need for me to worry about keeping a link active.

Bottom line, LJ archives images that are uploaded so I do NOT have to link to images. Is that correct?
