Santa brought me a JessEm ll router lift. One of the recommended routers for this lift is a Chraftsman #1754/17540. I have a Chraftsman #320.17543. Does anyone know the difference between what I have and the recommended. Eventually I want to get a Bosch 1617/1618 router. Not in the budget right at the moment.

The diameter of the router where it mounts in the lift is crucial. I had a craftsman router in my Jessem lift for a while to get it to fit I had to sand the plastic down on the router body. I eventually replaced it with a PC 690 that had a 1/2” chuck. The craftsman only had 1/4”. Measure the diameter of your router body and see if it falls in the specs given by Jessem for that lift. If it fits it will probably work.

That Jessem lift is a very good lift.

johnstoneb, Thanks for your reply. However, either I have a wrong number for my router or you are referring to another router. The one I have came as a plunge router with both 1/4” and 1/2” collets. I do have an older Chraftsman router that only has a 1/4” collet. It is probably 40 or 50 years old and sits in one of my cabinets taking up space.
