Topic tags/keywords: question jointer

I’m thinking of getting one of these but I can’t find the dang full hight of one. I want to know, before buying, if it will fit under one of my benches. Anyone got one they could measure for me?

Thanks,
BlackNoir

It’s going to depend on the mobile base you put it on as it’s not going to be light enough to just slide out and put back. Plus, it’s a tad top heavy. If I can measure mine without it’s base when I get home I’ll post the height.

Cheers!

Mine is exactly 36” off the ground without the mobile base. That’s from ground level to the top of a knob that moves the fence. Hope that helps.

I want one but cannot seem to find one in Canada. THD says they don’t make them anymore. Any ideas?

Thanks Tom, I’ll check those measurements and add some for a base. I’ll probably go with the same mobile base I have on my table saw.

Murray, drive across the border?

Maybe they will replace it with a new model? The Home Depot site shows they are out of stock online, but may be available at your local store.

The same thing is showing for the Ridgid planer, and we know that is being replaced with a new model. Maybe they have some new updates to the jointer as well.

wait, they’re replacing the Ridgid Planer? I was going to get one of those.. any idea what the new model is and when?

The Jointer won’t quite fit under my bench so I think I’ll just raise it up a bit.. maybe.. might wait till after I get it and see if I can squeeze it somewhere else.. thanks all for checking.
