Looking through craigslist this morning, i saw an ad for a Grizzly G1019z band saw for sale … $225 … its a 14” band saw, 6” of resaw capacity without the riser kit, 1 HP motor .

Now i have been in the market for a bandsaw but waiting to find the funds for it … this may fit the bill. My question is … will the 1 HP motor be enough? It was manufactured in 1998. Would it be easy enough to swap out the motor for a 2 HP?

I would like to do some resawing with it, maybe some oak logs … i dont really work with any exotics mostly oak, maple, and other local woods.

Thanks for the advice.
