Topic tags/keywords: question sander sanding hook and loop sanding discs

I recently came across Norton ProSand MULTI-AIR Hook & Sand Discs for the random orbital sander and wonder how these discs perform and how long they last.

I recently switched from Mirka Bulldog Gold sanding discs to Mirka Abranet discs. I found, as others have stated in reviews, that the Abranet mesh screen is an outstanding performer for stock removal, longevity, and dust extraction. However, the edges of the discs seem prone to tearing.

I suppose in response to Mirka’s Abranet, Norton introduced a multi-hole Random Orbital hook and loop sanding disk. The hole placement is engineered to enhance dust extraction and the sanding medium is an aluminum ceramic, according to Norton.

My questions are how well does the Norton ProSand MULTI-AIR Hook & Sand Discs perform relative to longevity, stock removal, dust extraction, and finished surface? Also for anyone who has tried both, which is better and why?

Thanks for the info.
