So yesterday I’m putting the finishing touches on cockbeading a cherry dresser my grand nephew looks in my studio and says, “I didn’t know you were a crafty person.” I asked him, “you mean sly like a fox or a craftsman?” All I got was a blank stare.

I wanted to tell him, “Its called [ahem] Fine Woodworking, if I may say so myself.”

I know he was trying to compliment me, I just thought it was funny.

I head that! About 10 yeas ago I was driving a co-worker around just north of Dallas and she said she was crafty…if I hadn’t been driving I would have fallen over, I was laughing so hard, she was not crafty in my books. She maintained that crafty meant going to craft shows and not being sneaky.
