FYI – There is a good looking Festoool TS55 on ebay that is mislabeled.

Here it is – -http://cgi.ebay.com/Festool-FS-1400-2-plunge-cut-saw-great-condition-/320575579272?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0#ht_500wt_1154

It is NOT an FS 1400/2 (which is the name of a router).

Because of the mislabeling, it may go cheap.

This may be a good opportunity for someone who wants to get this tool.

I already have one and I really like it. Otherwise, you would not see this post.

Rich, what is the attraction to this saw?
I confess, I don’t know anything about Festool.

Is $300.00 cheap for this model?

Normal retail on this saw is $500 and that does not include the vacuum hose. Essentially, they are never offered at a discount price except that this saw was on sale for $450 for a few months (very unusual).

To describe the merits of a Festool plunge/track saw is probably beyond what I can say in a few comments in this format. Go to www.festool.com to learn more.

Festools are known to be expensive German tools. I call them the Mercedes-Benz of the power tool world. Some of their tools are simply over-priced. However, I think the plunge saws are an exceptional value because they are an exceptional tool. If I were starting over today I would want a festool plunge saw in lieu of a table saw or miter saw. Of course, I didn’t know that 10 years ago.

Have your say...
