I am trying to purchase my first woodworking tools and boy I am having some bad luck….

My Rikon 10-325 bandsaw vibrates.
My Ridgid jointer bought new and on clearance needs more repair than the discount is worth

I just got home from Klingspor and

I bought a Crown mortising gauge and notice the fence is a good 10 degrees from square with the post. That doesn’t seem right. Does it matter?

I also bought the new veritas dovetail saw and their honing guide and these are beautiful tools.

10 degrees out of square seems like a lot. It sounds like it was involved in an accident.

Send it back if you can. You didn’t mention how it is out of square, but only 1 out of 4 won’t matter, 3 out of 4 will … so the odds are not in your favor. Return it.

It’s always easier to get forgiveness than permission.
