I picked up some flat rate shipping boxes at the post office today. The guy said shipping is $14.50 anywhere in the USA.

I filled up 3 boxes with some wood I cut. It’s all local Ohio River valley woods.

Here’s the deal – I send you a box, you send me a box. I pay shipping to you, and you to me.

It is all sealed with Anchorseal on the end grain, bowl blank is totally sealed.

The walnut is courtesy of Hurricane Ike, Sept 2008. The rest is newer than that. It should all be considered green, wet, whatever.

All measurements are approximate. Some are cut nice and square, some aren’t. Some have been cut down to fit in the box, and resealed. Some have the date, weight and species on them, some don’t. The pin oak may have a bug or 2, but I don’t see any active on or around it.

I’m having a senior moment ( day?) trying to get the pics to work right. I give up, click on the link.

Box 1
Mulberry bowl blank 3 & 1/2×9
Osage Orange 2×2 x 9
Walnut 2 & 1/4×2 & 1/4×8
Walnut 2 & 7/8×2 & 7/8×10
Walnut 1 & 7/8×1 & 7/8×12

Box 2
Spalted pin oak 3 & 1/2×5 & 1/2×11
Catalpa (Catawba) 5 & 1/2×5 & 1/2×11
Buckeye 2 & 1/4×3 & 1/2×11
Walnut 1 & 7/8×1 & 7/8×9 2 pieces
The pin oak was some firewood sized pieces someone gave me, I just cut it up from that.

Box 3
Spalted sycamore 2 & 1/2×2 & 1/2×12
Mulberry 3 & 1/2×3 & 1/2×11 2 pieces
Walnut 1 & 1/2×1 & 1/2×10 2 pieces
Walnut 2 & 3/4×2 & 3/4×10
Walnut 2×2 x 12
Walnut 2×3 & 3/4×11
The sycamore was a standing dead tree at work, they cut it down and I got some of it.

I can put more boxes together if this works out. Let me know what you got, we’ll work out the details in a pm.

Dan,we might have to work something out.

I can’t get the pics to display right. They get cutoff on the right side. I spent about 2 hours on it, took more pics at lower resolution. I give up. Thanks for posting them.

I think this is such a great idea. I hope more LJ’s get in on these and try meeting new Jocks and swapping wood. Nice work hairy. I don’t have much wood but maybe I’ll put something together. I do have a little Koa and maybe some Walnut and Ash.

Box 3 is gone. I can do some more if somebody’s up for it.
