Is there the possibility to make a link open in a new window/tab?

Hi all. Here a photo with a hyperlink:

Unfortunately the link is not opened in a new window/tab.
The formatting code (without the spaces I put in, to let you see the code) is

! http : // img687.imageshack.us/img687/6083/sh0.gif ! : http : //a.imageshack.us/img707/3748/workshop0.jpg

I wonder if there is something similar to the html target=blank or new

You should be able to do this, ignore the commenting parts though <!—and the end comment—> I had to use these so it wouldn’t render it as a link. Make sure you have an underscore before “blank”, for some reason that doesn’t render in this text.

<!—<a href=”image url” target=”blank”><img src=”img url” /> </a> —>

<!— <a href=”http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6083/sh0.gif” target=”blank”><img src=”http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6083/sh0.gif” /></a> —>

Thats a really good panoramic shot of your shop by the way.

Is that a small boat hanging behind your bandsaw?

Thank you Eric, yes, it’s the model of the boat I’m building (slower and slower, because of our dear crisis, which takes away the wish to do anything unnecessary). Above the model there are some homemade oars too.

I don’t know why, but your hmtl code doesn’t work here, sorry. Have you tried it?
The LJ editor seems to ignore any html code.

Here below I have pasted your code without the comment markup (I for one do not see anything):

Thank you Cess. and sk., I well know both your methods, but – sorry – it’s not what I was asking for. I need the code that works here – if there is.
I guess we need Martin…

For some reason when it rendered the link I wrote, it changed the quotes. If you type it instead of copying it the quotes should be correct and it will display like below, remember to include underscore as well before the word blank. That didn’t render in the above link either.

yes, I have read in your personal page.

I draw working drawings all the day instead (in autocad), in private practice. It’s not exactly what I wished when I was at the university, you know, one dreams of the wonderful architecture of the great architects of the Modern era – millions years ago. Nowadays it’s somewhat different, a druggist has a more creative job then mine, I guess :-(((
