I just bought a used 708 Dewalt mitre saw for my son. I already own a 718 so I do know a bit about the make. I have the lazer on my 718, does Dewalt have the lazer attachment for the 708? Can’t seem to find it on Amazon or the likes? I understand the 708 might be a little old but does anyone know if there is identification on the saw that would give me an approximate year of “build”

Did you have any luck on finding the agge of the saw? I have wondered how effective the lasers were. They must work if you are looking to add one to this machine!

I could only estimate the saw to be around 10-12 years old. I have a laser on my DW 718 and I can cut within a’ “hair”of my measurement. The 718 is mounted on a Rigid mitre saw stand in my shop and I can easily roll it to any job I want. It is one investment that I don’t regret.

From my memory they didn’t make a laser branded by dewalt. There are a few after market items that may work but I never tried them. The 708 is a great saw but finding some of the attachments is a bit tricky now due to the age. I’ve only needed to replace the arbor bearing in mine and it’s cut a lot of things.
