Dear LumberJocks Community,

We’re at 4 days until Christmas and I wanted to post this while everyone might still have a moment or two to spare.

I came into LumberJocks a while after discovering Izzy Swan, a man who has become something of a mentor to me. I found out about this website from him. Ever since I’ve came here I’ve felt welcomed, and learned more than I ever thought possible. I wasn’t well versed on anything technical, hardware, terminology, or anything of the like. I’ve been woodworking for a pretty decent amount of time, but always with what I could find and figuring out my own way, never really being able to use what some would consider proper technique, but it seemed to work well for me at the time.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been blessed with the help of family and friends to make some serious upgrades to my shop, both in equipment and in more pointed knowledge. Much of that was made possible by everyone here at the LumberJocks community, Izzy Swan, and others like him. If it wasn’t for the community here, I wouldn’t have ever learned to much incredible information so fast.

Over the last year alone, I’m really exited to see how I’ve been able to advance and work my way in to some more official woodworking. You all have been very instrumental in those advancements.

Merry Christmas, and my you all have a white one! It sure it here :-) 2 feet and counting, absolutely breathtaking.
