Here you forgot to mention these cable thingies.

Granger says they are cable hoists used to lift things but I’m sure the billion dollar company with 89 years of experience must be wrong surely.

Oh, and Harbor Freight sells the same hoists for a lot less that Graingers.

Yes you are correct that is a electrical cable. Just as the metal lifting cable is a cable. You must mean this one it’s good for lifting up deer to process. Thing is the despcritions kind of funny something about cable length,single cable design and cable size 1/8”. http://m.harborfreight.com/440-lb-electric-hoist-with-remote-control-60346.html?utm_referrer=direct%2Fnot%20provided
Maybe those are just misprints or maybe the term is interchangeable. Feel free to comment I know you will with you 24 years experience but I’m out of this thread too. Since it was directed at me. Here is an non electric hoist

So cables do lift loads and the term is interchangeable. Enjoy the thread
