Hello everyone.

I joined the forum and thought I would introduce myself. I’m just starting to get into woodworking as a hobby and have found it a nice change from my regular career as an automotive mechanic. This forum looks like its packed with a lot of great information and knowledge. I hope to share and learn from everyone.

Heres a few photos of my basement workshop in progress and a batch of end grain cutting boards I made for christmas.

Nice stuff. I see you already have a good looking crosscut sled. Nice space to work in too. I see a miter saw station in your future.

The boards look great. There will be some happy recipients of those.

I just finished building the crosscut sled the other day. As soon as i finish laminating my other counter top i plan to build a mitre station with dust collection. :)

Wow Chris, those checkered boards look amazing! Looks like a really nice chess set almost.

Nice looking shop too, do you have any circular saws?

Edit: What’s the dark wood?

Thanks for the compliments.

Yes I do have a circular saw. It’s just an old 7 1/4 inch Craftsman but it gets the job done.

The boards are made of hard maple and dark walnut.

Welcome aboard, great work on the cutting boards. However that shop is way too clean.
