Topic tags/keywords: bandsaw question

I have a Delta 10inch, BAND SAW that I inherited form my dad 5 yrs ago when he pass away. After I used it for 5 yrs I decided to buy new blade just because I believe that it must have been at least 8 yrs it might have changed it. Now the blade will not stay on. I have tightened the top wheel a little and a lot. I have cleaned it. But it will not stay on. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks Sylvan

You need to adjust the tracking on the top wheel. On the back of the case near the center of the upper wheel you will find an screw/wingnut. There will probably be a lock nut to keep it from rotating. You will
need to loosen that. Put the blade back on and turn it by hand. Turn the adjustment (Tracking screw)
probably clockwise since your bland is coming off. Keep turning the screw until the blade rides in the center
of the wheel. Then tighten the locking nut.

Hope this helps

There are tutorials on bandsaw tuning that should give you step by step instructions to solve your problem. A company named Carter is one source. Just google “carter band saw”.
