My 15 year old Ridgid shop vac died and I need a replacement.
I don’t have a dust collector so it has to double as one through my Dust Deputy until I decide I am really going to be putting in the time where I need a DC.
So, I need a shop vac that is as quiet as a shop vac can be, and as powerful as one can be.
Suggestions please?

I have a 16 gallon Ridgid that I feel is pretty quiet, it’s more quiet than the 5 gallon Shop Vac that I also own.

Fein and Festool make quiet vacs. I have both and the Fein seems quieter but I prefer the Festool due to the filter arrangement, rubber hose connector and variable speed. The biggest model Fein produces is supposed to be quite powerful and is sometimes used to power a makeshift vacuum table by some CNC owners.
