I am thinking of starting to make some pens. Can anyone recommend a good refernce book for a real beginner? I have watched somwe videos but seem to get more from a book.

Thanks

Mike

The Barry Gross book is pretty good , it covers both beginner pen turning as well as advanced turning . I forget the exact name of the book , just do a google search keywood Barry Gross .

I don’t know about that, but I have some nice maple that may make some beautiful pens, its from an old gym floor, put down in 1924, I have even found some birds eye, if you would like some to try, let me know, Id be glad to send you some, free grata
