Topic tags/keywords: jig question

I am getting ready to start a project that will be made almost completely out of 3/4” Baltic Birch Plywood. Finished project will be used by kids (large step stool of sorts). Since I am still new to woodworking I am wanting to do a mock up of it to make sure I have all the design elements right. I was thinking of using either MDF or Particleboard. Not sure what would hold screws for hardware better. Also thought I might use the mock up pieces as the pattern since I will need to make five total.

If I were faced with a choice between mdf and particle board I would go with the mdf. You may want to consider using confirmat screws which are specifically designed for use in mdf and particle board.
