So yesterday I put together the rolling wood storage cart from Steve Ramsey’s website.

I enjoy his “Woodworking for mere mortals” YouTube channel and saw theplan and knew it would fit my needs. I changed it around a bit and ripped some 2X4 to make shelf supports rather than plow dados and I just assembled the interior shelves on a “to fit” basis, in other words I held them up and made marks where they fit, all good.

I’ve never set up in less space, a two car garage, but I’m getting used to it. Having worked in professional cabinet shops for many years I think I need a 14” sliding table saw and such. My mindset is slowly working it’s way to grasping my new reality and things are coming together. The storage cart was a real eye-opening. After getting it done and cleaning up so much clutter my brain began going 100 miles an hour making plans to set up everything to maximize the space I have.

So I guess I’m just encouraging any of you thinking about it to just build the cart. Simple, only a couple of hours work and a real benefit to your workspace.

I don’t have room for more rolling “things” in my shop. All my wood goes on wall racks and I seldom have a need for plywood. I’m glad you’re happy though…

Have your say...
