I'll be out of the shop for a few weeks. Today my wife is going in for 4 hr surgery to remove a massive fibroid (21 cm or 8" diametre) that developed during her pregnancy with our daughter. It didn't mastecize (the doc's term) after childbirth and the concern is that it's cancerous. Once removed, we won't know for 2-3 weeks after surgery as they have to do a full pathology on the mass.
There'll be a 4-6 week recovery period if all goes well. I'll let you know how it goes. It's going to be a rough day for sure
Thanks all. This is such a great community and I am proud to be a member of it.
Not sure if this should be a different entry, but Marsha is sleeping beside me after a 4 hour procedure and is resting comfortably. Apparently the fibroid did degenerate, but the shrinkage was replaced by fluid maintaining the fibroid's apparent size.
We still have to wait for the pathology report to be completed, but the doc is cautiously optimistic.
Thanks again. Will post another update once we hear more news.
