I finally got fed up enough with MS internet explorer and said Good Bye to it yesterday. I downloaded Firefox and so far I like it. I do have a question for fellow Firefox users.

With IE 8 I could sign in to LJ’s without having to enter user name and password. I just cliked on LJ’s and I was in. I have noticed that with Firefox I have to enter the user name and pass everytime I open it. I do have it saved in Firefox, How do I. or can I, change a setting so I dont have to go through the sign in every time?

Hi Ken,
I’ve been using Firefox for about 7 months now and have fallen in love with it. When I shut my PC down, I have to type “l” to start lilredweldingrod…..And after the first time it is there every time.
When you next go on LJ look up at the top of the tool bar and it will ask “remember”. Just click the Remember and it is all over typing everything each time.

I have already done that. I am asked to sign in each time. With IR I didnt have to, it kept me logged in

Try this:

Go to the menu bar at the top of Firefox and click on Tools

Move down to the Options selection

In the window that opens, select Security

Check the box for Remember Passwords

Firefox 4 Beta has just been released and it looks really great but I’d wait until you get familiar with version 3 before trying out the Beta version.

Edit: I just read your last post. I believe the difference is Firefox’s additional security compared to IE

I’ve been using Firefox for a couple of years. It automatically remembers all my user names and passwords. When I type in the information on the screen for the first time, Firefox asks me if I want it to remember the information. I like it much better than IE because it has a built in spell checker.

If you have cookies enabled in your FF it should sign you in automatically – same as IE. However you cannot use another browser to sign in to LJ when you close FF and open it again.
