Topic tags/keywords: question heat air conditioning grille duct vent register grill

I just did a quick search, and couldn’t find anything like this on the LumberJocks site.

Anybody ever made … or … have any thoughts about making … heating/air conditioning floor vents ?

Like ….

I’ve wanted some (ours are the cheapest junk you could possibly buy … in an otherwise nice room) for quite a while. Have found them for a reasonable price, but … you know how it goes: maybe making them would be a learning process and a bit more fun !

Anybody done it ?

Hey Neil,

Wish I could help but I made it a rule never to make anything I have to stand on. Just wanted to say hi.

You must not have looked very hard. I searched wooden ac register and tons of links came up. They sell them at Lowes, HD, Ace and such also. They are cool, you should try your hand at them. Looks challenging.

Hey Neil,

I would think they would be fun, but a lot of work. See if you can get a gander at the structure of one of the manufactured ones. Would think that it would be helpful for construction hints, re standing on them, etc…......(-:

Once you setup a jig for the cuts it should go pretty quickly and smoothly.
