I have just been asked to build a jacuzzi surround for my wife’s co-worker. It will be simple frame and panel construction with a couple raised panel doors. It will be painted to match the existing cabinets. My question is this, If I spray a couple coats of dewaxed shellac to seal the piece, will paint still adhere properly????? I would hate for my first commission to be a flop because the paint wouldn’t stick!!
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Don’t use shellac near water if you are going to paint it.
Start with a good primer, then paint.
