I need some help in identifying a couple of parts that I am scratching my head over. Anybody have any ideas?
Much appreciated!

A miterbox tree is the T shaped tool. Not so sure of the other but id suspect its also a part of a miterbox. Them little trees are always lost. Good score.

Those trees are one of the parts that are often missing. They disappear into ether never to be found again, but you’ve managed to. I agree the other piece looks like a mitre box part too, but I can’t place it either.

Id also like to apologize for my avatar. I lost a bet.

Photo number two is of an “automatic catch” which clamps onto the spine of a miter saw.

When the saw is lifted slightly, the catch contacts a lever at the top of the front saw guide, thereby allowing the saw to descend to the workpiece.

It is even rarer than the tree in photo number one—that piece is a length stop—for repeatable cuts.
(just like my avatar)

The other parts clamps onto the back of the mitre box’s saw. Acts as a trip for the stops.

Rods are used with the “tree” as a stop for making repeat cuts the same length….

Thanks to all for the information that has also helped me identify the tree plus a couple of other mitre box related item acquired at the same time. I am still unclear though on the use of the smaller clamp part. Can anyone supply a photo or diagram of it in use?
