Topic tags/keywords: porter cable table saw blade raise question worm gear sled

I have a Porter Cable Jobsite table saw…everything was fine, then it wasn’t ugh I cant get the blade raise! I was working on a zero clearance insert. Used the saw to make a few cuts, lowered the blade then came back to see if I had a fit and blade would not move! *SCREAMS PLEASE HELP!

UPDATE**
Ok took blade out and cleaned everything, the little worm gear that makes the sleds go up and down did have sawdust stuck in grooves so I cleaned out really well along with the rest of saw. Put it all back together and the blade raises now BUT…starting from the lowest point moving up it is VERY VERY hard to turn and to get blade to raise. About mid point it gets easier. WHY WHY WHY???

PLEASE HELP
