I saw a comment from Cricket saying they have upgraded to a new, faster server. I use a Kindle Fire Tablet and the site was slow at times. With the upgrade, the site it very much faster

Thanks to Cricket….

They may have updated to a faster server, but I still can’t get email notifications, or download pictures to forum topics…It’s like their server has wiped me clean, and I don’t exist anymore, or so it seems…I’ve been trying for weeks, but no go…It’s aggrivating…!!

Email issues are not related to the server. It comes down to a member’s email service provider blocking and/or throttling emails. (AOL, Bellsouth.net, and ATT are notorious for this.) If you are not getting your emails, 1st make sure your settings are correct. After that, the only other option is to try another email address. Some folks have more luck with a gmail address.

As far as downloading images to your computer, that is also not server related. That would be related to your own computer, browser, or security settings. That being said, if you are downloading other member’s pictures from projects etc, you should be asking their permission to do so.

I am very pleased with how much faster the site has been loading for people.

Cricket,

Thanks… I guess that answers my complaint about the server…I’ll need to check with my email provider to find the problem, and see if they are blocking me….I’ve re-checked my email notifications on LJs, and it is on, so it’s another issue…I do have gmail, so that might be an option, too..and I don’t download other members’ photos from their projects….I may only put them as favorites…..

I may have misunderstood you. Are you having trouble uploading images to the site?

Yes…But I’m also having trouble uploading from my phone or ipad to my PC, then putting them in a folder so I can upload them to LJs.

What some people do is email themselves pictures from their phone. Have you tried that?
