OK, I see this DIY Smart Saw plastered in the ads all over anywhree that even mentions wood. I’ve tried to see if anyone has a genuine review on this thing but only find content produced by the company and nothing is substantial. They just want you to pay $29 so you can download all the instructins and such.

Anyone have any honest knowledge of this that’s not part of the company? I’m guessing if it’s not a scam it’s just overblown hype for their garbage that’s only marginally workable.

I never heard of it but I just looked into it, watched
some parts of a “review” video published by an
affiliate marketer.

My conclusion is that the machine is probably kind
of chintzy which is why they don’t want to show
you a picture of it. They also don’t tell you how
much the investment to build the thing is up front.

There are a lot of web pages about building CNC
machines that are up front about the expenses.

Loren, my thoughts exactly but thank you very much for the confirmation.

Just google DIY Smart Saw. There are several YouTube videos on the subject.

Yes there are and every one is an affiliate produced or reproduced video. Not a single one is a “critical” review

Thanks all.

If one wants to build a CNC there are TONS of free resources available, there is no reason to pay for what I bet is a poor substitute for the wealth of info on the CNC forums.

I think I read somewhere that even our great woodworking buddy Ted was looking to sell this SmartSaw… hmm…..
