Topic tags/keywords: grizzly bandsaw band saw guide post alignment shim

When I raise my guide post and adjust my guides all is good.

When I lower the guide post, the back bearing moves back almost 1/4” away from the back of the blade.

Anyone else have this issue with a Grizzy bandsaw?

Any ideas on how to fix?

Hi Kurt. I had the same issue with the 513ANV version. I was on the phone with tech support a few times. Turns out on my saw, the guide bar (the piece that moves up and down) was bent ever so slightly. It was suggested to me that I install shims. No workie.

I set the saw up exactly like Alex Snodgrass suggests. No gain.

I dorked around with it for about a week, and sent it back. I suspect it got damaged in shipping, but who knows

Bought a Rikon 10-326 and no issues.

Good luck!
