The original—and still my favorite—version of my Dynamo Men Lamp is in the current Dec/Jan issue of Woodcraft Magazine.

A number of LJ’s have asked about plans, so here’s your chance to “borrow” my design and construction techniques. :-)

You can view the contents of the issue here … http://www.woodcraftmagazine.com/posts.php?id=337
Lots of great seasonal/gifty projects AND an interview with Nick Offerman.

Enjoy !!!

I thought that Master Magicians never give their secrets away?

‘Cuz that’s what you are with these lamps… The Master !

All you need John is a little hair dye and put your chin down our your chest and you will be a spitting image!

I think the Dynamo men were the cause of your hairline. I’m sure they were not always cooperative working with them.
Thanks for the info john.

I’m familiar with the phrase spitting image , but I didn’t know where it came from. So I looked it up …

That idea, if not the exact phrase, was in circulation by the end of the 17th century, when George Farquhar used it in his comic play Love and a bottle, 1689:

“Poor child! He’s as like his own dadda as if he were spit out of his mouth.”

Thanks, oldnovice !!! Always looking for new brain-clutter. :-)

John, I like to make something like this that operates on a whirligig. Maybe a small battery and bicycle generator.
