That’s awesome. My grandfather, while he didn’t exactly “decorate” his tools”, he did etch his name in cursive on them. He has long passed but when I found his old hammer with his name engraved on the head it was a happy day.

Marvelous decoration on your carving axe. Freehand burning is an art which should be encouraged. We have here in India a few wood burners who do it in a very primitive way using a primus stove. It is enchanting to see how fast they do it. The pictures below shows such burning done on a walking cane.
