Today my wife and I took a trip to Pottsville PA to tour the Yuengling Brewery. Before the tour started our guide said that she wanted to introduce a special guest. His name was Casey Fulp. Casey explained that he is hiking the entire Appalachian doing what he is calling “Hike For The Veterans”. Casey was a member of the Special Forces Qualification Course as an 18D (Special Forces Medic). On July 7th 2008 while at home visiting his parents he was involved in a very serious motorcycle accident. Because of all his injuries he had to take a medical discharge from the service. His desire to serve his country still remains which is why his hike will be used as a fund-raiser to support The Mission Continues, an organization empowering disabled veterans. When I got home I checked out his web page and he has already posted a blog about his tour at Yuengling.
Please take a minute and check out his web page about his hike at: http://hikefortheveterans.com/?p=1073 and if you can pass this link on to others so that more people are aware of Casey and The Mission Continues.
As Casey says “Your life may change due to injuries, but your goals don’t have to… just the way you go about achieving them. Everyone has their journey. You just have to be willing to take it.”
Big THANKS to Casey and all the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
