Topic tags/keywords: question plane

Hey everybody,
So I am embarking on designing and eventually in the future, I don’t know when, making a infill jointer plane. Its going to be a copy of a 30 inch long Spiers of Ayr jointer (my mother’s family is scottish, so I felt that copying his plane would be fitting). These jointer’s were infilled with most often Brazilian Rosewood, so thats off the table in the design. basically what I am asking is I need suggestions for a nice heavy exotic that would be nice for this plane.
Thanks,
Benjamin
