I’m looking at upgrading my table saw from a General International 2hp to a 3hp something? I like the price, value and extras of the Grizzly G0651 for 2K. However I’ve also stumbled across a 10-12 yr old Delta Unisaw with a 52” Excaliber fence. My question is if the used Delta is in mint would which one would you buy and why? It’s rare to see a Unisaw up for sale let alone a mint one. I look forward to your comments.

Greetings knotthead,

If it was me trying to decide which saw to get, it would be a no-brainer…. I’d go for the doubt.
Personally, I’m not a fan at all of Grizzly….I had a couple of their machines, and had serious trouble with them.
Nearly all my machines are Delta, but that’s just me. I have a X5 Unisaw w/ a 52” Biesemeyer fence, and this
saw is a beast.. If the Unisaw you’re looking at is mint, clean, and you can get a good deal on it, I say go for
it. You can always upgrade to a Biesemeyer femce and add-ons…....It should definently be a 3 HP or more…
A lot of LJs on here have older Unisaws, and they all really like them…...

I am a fan of Grizzly, I own several of their tools, and like the price/quality mix, but I would agree with Rick. Go for the Unisaw. It’s a great product. I don’t know much about the Excalibur fence, I have always used Beisemeyers.
