Topic tags/keywords: tip resource dick The latest issue of Workbench Magazine shows this interesting download. This would be a good tool for inventorying your tools, & equipment. -- -** You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream ****************** Dick, & Barb Cain, Hibbing, MN. http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/gallery/member.php?uid=3627&protype=1 |

Looks like it might be a good idea. Save it on a disc and store it off-site. -- Maplewood, MN |

I haven’t tried it yet, because I just downloaded it myself, but I plan on doing so. -- -** You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream ****************** Dick, & Barb Cain, Hibbing, MN. http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/gallery/member.php?uid=3627&protype=1 |

It is always good to “know your stuff” but in general using an application that you already have and may know is sometimes (not always) better than getting a custom app to do the job. Do you already have a spread sheet that you use, maybe a database? Even a text file is sometimes much easier but there are times when a custom app far out weighs the benifits of a generic application to get-r-done. Good luck -- "so much to learn and so little time".. |

I don’t like trusting other peoples software to store my information, especially since their software might send a copy to someplace I’ve never been or trust. I’ve used a spreedsheet in the past, but changed to an access database to store my inventory, receipts and pictures. Then i encrypt the entire thing on a CD and store one in the safe in the house and another at an offsite location (bank). Even if theives bother to look at the file, they still have to break the encryption. |

I think a set up like this is good for a person like me. I wouldn’t know where to start on my own. This guides me through it one step at a time. -- -** You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream ****************** Dick, & Barb Cain, Hibbing, MN. http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/gallery/member.php?uid=3627&protype=1 |

I just tried entered a few pictures, & found out you can run this program without putting any of your private info. into it, even your name , & address, so it can be as safe as you want it to be. -- -** You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream ****************** Dick, & Barb Cain, Hibbing, MN. http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/gallery/member.php?uid=3627&protype=1 |
