I have discovered that the flange nut is too thin to provide adequate access for a wrench to tighten it. It is exactly equal to the terrible thin (and short) wrenches that came with the saw. Trying to fit the wrench securely to the nut is extremely difficult. Longer, normally constructed wrenches would be of no use. Also, the part of the nut that fits into the hole protrudes too far thru the flange and contacts the blade before the flange does. I have had to reverse the flange to correct both problems. Other than contacting Grizzly and complaining, as anyone found a similar problem and solution?

For those who offered suggestions regarding my earlier question about the difficulty in raising the trunnion, a friend with 45 years of woodworking experience discovered that the screw which secures the worm had loosened, causing the worm to “worm” its way back along the high shaft, hitting the Geared Bearing Housing.

Peace
