Ok—I’m new to refinishing…but I have done it off and on for years….

Original finish removed with soy and industrial strength stripping solutions. Steamed-out dents and scratches, raised the grain, sanded to 320 grit, stained with Minwax Red Oak, then Minwax polyurethane rattle can semi-gloss. Rub-out to 800 grit with Howard’s cutting board oil, then covered with Minwax paste wax until all end grain disappeared. Last, the whole thing was topped-off with Howard’s feed-n-wax. Can’t say this is a science—just the way it went.
