I have a fully functional Emmert Turtleback vise that just needs a good cleaning and new paint job (unless red is your color). The front jaws at one time were broken on the right side (which you can see in the 1st picture) but welded back together and shouldn’t affect the functionality of the device. The spindle is also missing a small piece which doesn’t affect its operation and could easily be replaced if you feel so inclined. Jaws are 18” wide by 7” high with a max opening of 14” and weighs in at 86lbs. They don’t make them like this anymore.

Ashamed it has a repair on it!

That vise would quickly fetch 700-800.00 in my area if all parts were present and no repairs.

Good luck with it….it is a very nice vise !

Yeah it is too bad. You can buy some reproduction jaws at

They aren’t cheap though at $350. It would probably be easier to find someone selling one for parts… it would probably be cheaper. I’ve been looking, if I didn’t come across a newer version I would probably just use this one as is. Not sure if its worth the investment from me to source another pair of front jaws prior to selling. Could put me even more in the hole. I am willing to entertain offers though.

There is one for sale on ebay for “buy it now” price of 800 dollars.

To the OP. I never understood people put something up for sale and not putting a price on it.
