A friend of mine is frequently comming to Melbourne and offering a favor to handcarry some small items. She wants to be friend with lumberjocks while she is there. I have some penblanks from my cut-off that could be handcarried and who wil be the lucky one to have it?... First come first serve.

Hi Bert, I have two daughters studying in QLD and have travelled this beautiful country several times. You have very good intentions my friend but Australian Customs Police have very strict laws when it comes to bringing in wooden products. Your friend has to declare it and It may be quarantined, confiscated or what not….. At the end it might be a lot of trouble for your friend.

Hi Bert,

I am from Melbourne.
She can bring in some pen blanks, but she will have to declare them to customs. Provided the timbers are clean and not contain dirt or other particles, she should be fine.

Hi Greg,
She said so that it will not be a problem because she was always travelling from time to time. Even the rosary beads has to be declared and inspected. I just want you to try the species on your work and let me know if it is really a good quality wood for pen.. Are you into penmaking?
I have checked through searching and I found you and one LJ in Melbourne. I like what you made … an infill plane. I also make plane but only for my use. Thanks.
