Topic tags/keywords: maple tap-hole podium finishing

I just planed down 25+ board feet of tap-hole maple for a project to 3/4” thickness. I am building a short podium for the local “Original Pancake House”. “Short” as the hostestes are female and the boards are only available in 40 to 44 inch lengths. They are looking great now and only ran $2.75 a board foot. Anyone have any experience with finishing or working with the stuff? It will be outside the restaurant in the shade/sun for operating hours, and the owner wants a “no maintainance” product.

Thanks
