Not posting a question but more of a statement. I picked up a woodriver no.5 plane and after a tune up what a great tool. This is my first plane and I can see why people get addicted to them. I’m still learning how to use it but its a joy to run across a board. I see many hand planes in my future HAHA.

congrats as well.

My first/only plane is a cheap and poor quality $10 plane but using it has taught me a lot. At least you probably didn’t have the blade a 1/2 inch out on your first try :p

Yes, they are great! I spent a lot of time honing the blade on my waterstones, but time well spent. Very good plane!
