I bought a stanley 140 skew plane today with no lever cap . Does anyone know where I might find one?

That’s a hard one. The 140 is rare enough and I think (from ones I remember seeing) that there were a few different designs on the levercap over the years.
If you have an ebay account, you can create a custom search and then subscribe to the rss feed to that search. The search may turn up nothing for 30 days in a row, but on the 32nd day it may pop up with a hit. The nice thing about it being in an RSS reader, like google reader, is that you don’t have to keep checking back, your reader will show it to you.

Try this site: http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan0a.html

You should be able to find your #140 type on the website and then you can find the correct cap.

BTW they’re always for sale on EBAY….sometimes in pieces so you might get lucky. Good Luck!

Lie Nielsen sells parts for their copy of the 140, you could buy one from them if you dont mind using a non-stock part.
