Hi Guys – In preparation for my new garage shop makeover I sold my huge compressor since it was waaay overkill. Looking for a small oil-less unit. Is anyone using these California Air Tools compressors? I saw the 5510SE at Lowe’s for $167 and on amazon for $150.

The Pressure regulators look pretty cheap on them but they do seem very quiet. Just curious as to what others are using in their shops.

I just picked up the 5510SE thru Amazon about a month ago, so far I love it. Nice and quiet, pumps up quickly and been great for my nail gun and with the blow off tool. Regulator seems to work well right now.
Also, that price on Amazon includes free shipping, great deal!!!

generally speaking, oil lubricated air compressors are quieter than oil-less.

I recently replaced my old CH compressor, went for a Makita MAc2400, it is oil lubricated and very quiet, but I was surprised at how fast it fills its dual tanks, I even connected a third tank( auxiliary 8 Gal.tank) to it and still fills all 3 in 45 seconds.

It is heavy, but other than that ,I’m very happy with it, a good compressor to consider if you changed your mind with California air .
