Topic tags/keywords: black walnut sapwood heartwood unique slab slabs value walnut chainsaw mill

I milled up a pretty large walnut, all live edge slabs. And it’s all really unique with the sapwood grain and heartwood interchanging. I have no idea why it’s different then most of the walnut I see online. (New to forestry, I built a chainsaw mill with a stihl 084 and a 42” blade. All because a friend of mine cut a large walnut tree down and gave it to me. I new it was valuable. Now I would like to get the value out of it. I have 6-14’ long x 22”>16” wide x 2”>1” thick slabs.) please let me know why this is snd if it’s good. Also if your interested in a slab let me know.

Looks like a nice normal piece of Walnut.
